While this ensures long-lasting performance, regular care is still essential. The good news is that keeping your whiteboard clean is simple, and when maintained correctly, it will remain bright, clear, and performing at its best for years to come.
Everyday Whiteboard Cleaning
For daily use, a quick clean is all that’s needed:
Fully erase the surface using a clean felt or microfiber eraser
Wipe with a clean microfiber cloth
For heavier use areas, use a damp cloth with clean water
Regular cleaning removes marker oils before they build up, keeping the surface performing as intended.
Weekly Maintenance
For high-use environments, we recommend a deeper clean:
Wipe the surface with a microfiber cloth and a 30% isopropyl alcohol / 70% water solution.
Always rinse with clean water afterwards
Dry with a soft cloth to prevent residue
This helps remove any invisible residue that can affect erasability over time.
Preventing Ghosting
Ghosting is typically caused by marker residue building up on the surface over time.
Because our boards use non-porous CeramicSteel, ghosting can almost always be prevented with simple maintenance:
Clean the board regularly
Avoid leaving writing on the surface for extended periods
Replace markers once they begin to dry out
What to Avoid
To maintain the integrity of the surface:
Avoid abrasive pads or scouring products
Avoid strong acid or alkaline cleaners
Avoid cleaners that leave waxy or oily residue
Always rinse the board after using any cleaning product
Residue left behind from unsuitable cleaners can reduce erasability and overall performance
Extra Tips
Most marks can be removed with water alone
For stubborn ink, writing over it with a dry-erase marker and wiping clean can help lift residue
Cleaning frequency should match usage—daily for high-traffic spaces, weekly at a minimum
