Located in the cultural hub of Glen Waverley, Scusa Mi Italiano is a modern Italian restaurant positioned within The Glen’s outdoor dining precinct. In 2021, the restaurant contacted BACH Commercial to help them improve the acoustic performance of their dining area. 

The restaurant’s interior design is characterised by curved concrete walls and large windows. While visually striking, these features created a significant acoustic challenge. Loud sounds and excess noise easily travelled around the space, leading to heightened noise levels during busy dining periods. To address this, Scusa Mi Italiano required discreet acoustic treatments that would reduce noise without compromising the interior aesthetics.

We supplied and installed a combination of suspended acoustic panels and ceiling baffles to soften sound throughout the dining area. Panels were strategically installed inside the ring lights, adding function without disrupting the visual design. In addition, black acoustic panels were concealed above the ceiling rods, providing premium sound absorption while remaining unobtrusive to diners.

By integrating acoustic treatments seamlessly into the restaurant’s design, the BACH team delivered a solution that enhanced both comfort and the overall dining experience at Scusa Mi Italiano.
