Located in Donvale, Heatherwood School is a specialist school supporting secondary-aged students with mild intellectual disabilities.

After a fire damaged Block A, the school undertook a major rebuild to provide new, improved facilities for the school community. Designed by Kennedy Nolan and delivered by Devco, the new Block A includes performing arts spaces, a canteen and trade kitchen, food technology and hospitality classrooms, administration areas and supporting amenities.

BACH Commercial was engaged to supply and install a combination of whiteboard, pinboard and acoustic solutions throughout the new facilities.

The project featured Autex acoustic panels in Parthenon, Acros and Highland colourways, alongside BACH L15 Premium Porcelain Whiteboards.

A standout element of the installation was the curved acoustic wall. The acoustic fabric was carefully installed to follow the form of the curved surface, including precision cutting around a distinctive circular window. This required close attention to detail to achieve a clean finish while maintaining the architectural design intent.

The completed installation combines practical writing surfaces with acoustic treatments designed for a busy specialist education environment.
