Monash University - Building B36
Monash University recently upgraded its Clayton campus, transforming facilities into vibrant, high-performance study zones. Building B36 introduced a series of modern study nooks, booths, and classrooms equipped with high-quality teaching and learning surfaces.
Materials were chosen for their durability, appearance, and acoustic performance. The colour orange was incorporated throughout for its ability to boost memory, support critical thinking, increase oxygen flow to the brain, and create an uplifting atmosphere.
Acoustic treatments were essential to manage reverberation and ensure optimal sound quality in study areas, meeting rooms, and collaborative zones. The BACH Commercial team was contracted to supply and install a variety of acoustic wall and ceiling panels, pinboards, and whiteboards.
Our scope of work included:
• Supplying and installing acoustic wall and ceiling panels in Myst, Orange, and Muralla tones, chosen by the architect to introduce warmth and energy into the workspace.
• Building and installing our L15 Standard Whiteboards in various sizes, each with a low-gloss vitreous porcelain enamel coating, making them ideal for both writing and projection.
• Pinboards and trims, supplied and finished with aluminium edging to blend seamlessly with the architectural design.
By combining panels of varying thicknesses and colours, we delivered a solution that significantly improved acoustic comfort across classrooms, study booths, and hallways.
