Thornhill Park Primary School opened in 2023 and provides a vibrant new learning environment for Prep to Grade 6 students in the City of Melton. Designed by ARM Architecture and built by Hutchinson Builders, the school was developed around the theme “Habitat – Management, Conservation.”

Each building follows a bold colour palette, featuring thoughtfully designed acoustic ceiling panels with angular forms. Classrooms are fitted with BACH Whiteboards, while interiors are enhanced by matching acoustic wall fabrics. A testament to the fusion of design and education.  The school also incorporates innovative design features informed by Indigenous artists, including the “Billy Button” theme, which is present throughout.

Formerly known as Rockbank Murray Road Primary School, Thornhill Park was one of six new schools in Melbourne’s west delivered by the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA). For BACH Commercial, this project provided the opportunity to supply and install a comprehensive package of whiteboards, pinboards, and acoustic treatments to support the new campus.

Our scope included:

• Supplying and installing standard whiteboards in classrooms.

• Installing durable, functional pinboards across staff and learning spaces.

• Providing printed wall panels to reflect the school’s Indigenous-inspired design themes.

• Installing ceiling and wall acoustic panels in bright colours and angular designs, delivering both effective sound absorption and striking visual features.

The completed Thornhill Park Primary School successfully blends bold architectural design with functional, future-focused learning environments. BACH Commercial’s installations enhanced acoustic comfort, provided durable teaching surfaces, and contributed to the school’s visually distinctive interiors. The result is a modern, flexible, and inspiring environment that supports collaboration, quiet study, and creativity for staff and students alike.
