Monash University Games Room
Monash University set out to create a vibrant Games Room at its Clayton campus, providing students with a fun, engaging, and social “break-away” space. Designed by JMA Architects and built by Alchemy Construct, the project transformed an existing external courtyard in the heart of the Monash Sports Centre into a recreation hub featuring billiard tables, arcade machines, dart boards, video games, foosball, and air hockey.
BACH Commercial was engaged to supply and install acoustic wall panelling and pinboards throughout the Games Room. Bright green panels (which are playfully reminiscent of tennis balls) were paired with grey tones to bring texture, vibrancy, and acoustic performance to the space. These treatments helped soften sound from games and conversation while also aligning with the energetic design.
The finished Games Room successfully combines function and fun, giving Monash University students a dedicated space to relax, connect, and recharge.
